SAVEE数据库记录了来自萨里大学（University of Surrey）的27岁至31岁的四位英语为母语的男性女性（识别为DC，JE，JK，KL），研究生和研究人员。情感在心理上被分为不同的类别：愤怒，厌恶，恐惧，幸福，悲伤和惊奇。Ekman的跨文化研究支持了这一点，自动情感识别的研究倾向于集中于识别这些东西[12]。我们添加了中性，以提供7种情感类别的录音。文本材料由每个情感15个TIMIT句子组成：3个普通句子，2个特定于情感的句子和10个通用句子，每种句子因语音而保持平衡。将3个普通句子和2×6 = 12个特定于情感的句子记录为中性，以给出30个中性句子。
